When can I join?
- Any company can apply at any time during the year. Your anniversary date is the month in which you join. All applications have to be approved by the HBA Board of Directors who meets monthly (except in the months of January and July).
How much does it cost to join?
- Dues for Associates Members is $354.00 per year with a one-time $100.00 initiation fee.
Dues for Active Members is a minimum of $354.00 per year with a one-time $100.00 initiation fee. Additional dues may be owed at the end of the year depending on how may lots were conveyed by your company or how many single or multi-family units were built by your company. Any additional dues will be not be owed until your volume is declared at the end of each year.
How do I pay my dues?
- Dues are paid either quarterly or annually. If you choose to pay quarterly, you will receive an invoice every 3 months for $88.50. If you choose to pay annually this option is only available if your anniversary date is in December, January, June, July or August. An invoice will be sent to you for the amount of $354.00.
Do you offer Health Insurance coverage?
- YES! Health Insurance Group Rates are one of the benefits available to members. Coverage is offered by Mariemont Insurance Agency through Medical Mutual of Ohio. hey work together with you to find the best plan for your company. See Membership Benefits on this site for more information.
What are my "networking" opportunities?
- Almost every month the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati has a social event or a general membership meeting. Both types of meetings are perfect for networking. At the social events you have the opportunity to network and meet your fellow members most of the evening and get acquainted with them in a casual atmosphere. At the general membership meetings you have the opportunity to meet your fellow members during the cocktail hour before and after the business meeting.
Does the HBA of Greater Cincinnati have any trade shows?
- YES! In the month of February, Associate Members get the EXCLUSIVE opportunity to display their latest products to more than 1500 members of the Association.
In June, during our HOMEARAMA® Luxury Edition, we have extensive exhibit tents. This gives members, as well as non-members, the opportunity to display their products and services to nearly 100,000 people. There is a cost break for members of the Association. In addition, the opportunity to place your ad in the Planbook is available; one Planbook is given to each family that attends the show.
In September, our HOMEARAMA® New Lifestyles Edition Show features ranch style homes. This also gives members, as well as non-members, the opportunity to display their products and services to nearly 25,000 people. In addition, the opportunity to place your ad in the Planbook is available; one Planbook is given to each family that attends the show.
Does the HBA have a magazine?
- YES! Our bi-weekly Publication is entitled HOUSING. It is sent to all members of the Association every other week. HOUSING contains pertinent information on the happenings within the Association as well as vital information for all companies in our industry.
What type of advertising does the HBA offer?
- There are MANY different ways to advertise through your membership. Companies can advertise in our bi-weekly publication - HOUSING, our HOMEARAMA® Planbooks, CiTiRAMA® Planbook and our Annual Directory. A company can also take advantage of our Annual sponsorship program - The Patron's Club or direct mail to members by ordering mailing labels at an inexpensive cost. What is the difference between Active and Associate Membership?
- Associate Members consist of many different types of companies. Carpentry, lumber, plumbing, masonry, painting, landscape, drywall, mortgage, real estate, loan, title, surveying, engineering and consulting companies all benefit from their Associate Memberships in the HBA.
Active Members are Land Developers, Multi Family and Single Family Builders and Remodeling companies. They have certain criteria that need to be met to obtain this type of membership. See Membership Criteria on this site for more information.
Note: If a Land Developer, Builder or Remodeler is unable to meet the criteria when they apply, they can be Associate Members until they can meet the criteria. However, they are unable to use the HBA Warranty and contracts offered to Active Members.
